Lucy

This photo essay is in memory of Lucy, my cat, who I was sad to lose on Wed, 4 May, 2005 after 21 years of unconditional love. She was my favorite living being. I will miss you forever Lucy.

Anne, Lucy, and myself… all babies
If Lucy was on a Belle and Sebastian album cover, this would be it.
in the kitchen
on my bed – this image inspired a self portrait I did later:
loving the flowers

goofing around in the fresh-cut grass

Attempts to hog Lucy proved futile
in the kitchen with Anne; probably awaiting a treat
in the leaves
maxin'
guarding the homestead
A hard day at the office; with a teenaged Kelly
The bent end of her poor broken tail hung off the porch step so naturally.
on my blanket

washing up at the top of the stairs, then hiding her face in coy embarrassment when she caught me photographing her

at her favorite spot in front of the stove; my dad took these
I can't believe how little Lucy is in this photo with Anne and me
in the kitchen
no caption I could write here would truely compete with Lucy's cuteness
with my feet; Summer 2004
This is the only photo at my bedside

dolled up
Waiting for me in the driveway to come home at night; I love how fuzzy her paws look here.
Kelly and Lucy; note Anne climbing aboard in the background

in the laundry room
Lucy slept with me almost every night, even if it was on the couch
This is the last photo taken of Lucy and me, and probably my favorite; 9 July, 2004
innocent until proven guilty
peeking down the stairway
in the southeast bedroom
wondering what I am doing
I love this photo of her wih Anne.
Lucy once told me that she loved life.
